The Map of Consciousness

David Hawkins, a renowned psychiatrist and spiritual teacher, developed this frequency scale referred to as The Map of Consciousness.  It’s based on the concept that the human mind is composed of different frequency levels ranging from 0 - 1000. Each level represents a different stage of consciousness, and the transition between the stages is the result of personal growth and inner work. The emotions of fear, guilt, grief and apathy are all hovering at frequencies that measure under 200, with the lowest emotion, shame, residing at a frequency of 20. Once we are operating at frequencies at the level of 200 and more, we are transforming from struggle to a more empowered state. And at the frequency of 500 people enter a state of unconditional love (this is a difficult one to attain), and at frequencies of 700 or more, people are able to attain really rare states of consciousness that are associated with spiritual mastery.

I compare this scale to Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs and to the Hindu Chakra System, which all explain human development based on similar ideologies.
